THE TEACHER IMAGE IN FICTION
Résumé
Our lives should be floodlighted by two kinds of truth: the truth of science and the truth of literature. The truth of science has been dominant over the last century. Yet, while science provides the picture tube, it isn't much help in deciding for us what pictures to show. Education texts can tell us about the theories of teaching, but only fiction, perhaps, can bring to life the teacher as an individual. Only fiction can convey the very private Gethsemane of such an individual facing a jeering c1ass each morning.Téléchargements
