TOWARDS THE NEW GEOGRAPHY

Résumé

In the last issue of the McGill Journal of Education, Professor Trevor Lloyd referred hopefully to a possible improvement in the standards of geography teaching in Canadian schools. His concern is not a new one but it is possible that a new approach to the problem might now be more fruitful. Instead of thinking about better ways of teaching the kind of geography which has become so well established, the time is surely right for us to examine its relevance for schools in the second half of twentieth century Canada.
