CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT, ICT, AND A SENSE OF BELONGING AT SCHOOL
French immersion programs are expanding in Western Canada and the clientele is increasingly made up of students from immigrant backgrounds. Some of these students, sometimes confronted with social difficulties, require special support from teachers. The purpose of this Note from the Field is to describe a strategy to improve and support school engagement and the sense of school belonging for an elementary student from Africa who experienced relational difficulties. The use of technology in learning has proved to be an effective strategy to spur school engagement and the sense of school belonging.
