RÉFLEXIONS SUR LES LIENS ENTRE NEUROSCIENCES, MATHÉMATIQUES ET ÉDUCATION

Abstract

Des concepts et méthodes sont parfois empruntés à d’autres disciplines et utilisés pour élucider certaines problématiques éducatives. Dans le cas de la « neuroéducation », cette dernière semble prétendre au statut de « science mère » dont le but est de fonder une grande part des champs de l’éducation. Tout en étant centré sur la « neurodidactique de mathématiques », cet article analysera certaines thèses explicites ou implicites formulées par la neuroéducation, afin de rendre explicite le fondement théorique qui les soutient et de délimiter la portée de certains résultats en termes d’application à l’enseignement de savoirs scolaires, en particulier les savoirs mathématiques. 

REFLECTIONS ON THE LINKS BETWEEN NEUROSCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, AND EDUCATION 

Concepts and methods are sometimes borrowed from other disciplines and used to elucidate some educational issues. In the case of “neuroeducation,” it has assumed a status as a “mother science” that serves as a foundation to a majority of the fields of education. Centered on the “neurodidactics of mathematics,” this article analyzes some explicit or implicit arguments formulated by neuroeducation in order to draw out the theoretical basis which supports them, as well as to define the scope of some results in terms of their application to teaching of school knowledges, in particular mathematical knowledges.
