LIEN ENTRE RÉEL ET VIRTUEL : ENSEIGNEMENT DE LA GÉOGRAPHIE ET CONSTRUCTION DE LA CONSCIENCE CITOYENNE
Keywords:
Indigenous pedagogy, place-based education, geography, reciprocation between real and virtualAbstract
RECIPROCATION BETWEEN REAL AND VIRTUAL: TEACHING GEOGRAPHY AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CIVIC CONSCIOUSNESS
This research and development project was designed for a Master in Education in order to test whether an approach using the local environment to learn concepts of geography allowed high school students in special education classrooms to develop the competencies required for the curriculum. Indigenous pedagogy, place-based pedagogy, and écoformation form the theoretical foundations that support the proposal for the development of learning situations that were designed and tested according to two models: One of the models was closely linked to the students’ environment and alternated with a virtual environment. The research findings are presented with regard to the construction of a civic consciousness and the role the proposal places on the virtual.
