Abstract

Thousands of years from now archeologists will look for the "pyramids" of an earlier Canadian civilization. That they will unearth evidence of schools and shopping centres there can be no doubt. What may be wondered, however, is whether they will be able to tell them apart.

Sam Allison, Richelieu Valley Regional High School, Quebec

Sam Allison teaches history at Richelieu Valley Regional High School in McMasterville, Quebec, and is doing doctoral work in organizational models of schools at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

Roger Magnuson, McGill University

Roger Magnuson is Director of Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Education at McGill University, and has written on Quebec and comparative education.
