LES FINISSANTS FRANCOPHONES EN ÉDUCATION DE L'ONTARIO: LA SITUATION DE L'EMPLOI

Abstract

RÉSUMÉ. Cet article présente les résultats d'une étude portant sur la situation de l'emploi chez les finissants francophones du programme de formation à l'enseignement de l'Université d'Ottawa, Les sujets étaient 184 étudiants qui ont obtenu un brevet d'enseignement de l'Ontario en 1995. Les résultats indiquent que 29 pour l00 d'entre eux ont obtenu un poste à temps plein dans l'enseignement; 8 pour 100, un poste à temps partiel; et 35 pour 100 font de la suppléance sur appel. La discussion commente les résultats et les analysent en fonction de l'offre et la demande d'enseignants au cours de la prochaine décennie. ABSTRACT. This article presents the results of a study on the job situation for francophone graduates in teacher training at the University of Ottawa. The subjects for the study were 184 students who received the Ontario teacher's certificate in 1995. The results indicate that 29 percent of them found a full-time teaching position; 8 percent found a part-time position; and 35 percent do substitute teaching on call. The article goes over the results and analyzes them, looking at supply and demand for teachers over the next decade.
