VALUES, TECHNOLOGY, AND SOCIAL STUDIES
Abstract
Personal values can be detrimental to others, and even more so in a technological society where technology provides power to those who control it. An ethic is proposed for the control of personal values based on the writings of Milton Mayeroff, Carol Gilligan, and William Leiss. Love, kindness, and respect for human dignity comprise this ethic for instruction in elementary and secondary social studies. Downloads
