KNOWLEDGE AND MYTHOLOGY IN TEACHER EDUCATION
Abstract
It is argued that recent proposals to improve teacher education programs in Canada will not result in significant improvements because they are based upon a model of teacher education that is similar to an encyclopedia of mythology rather than an encyclopedia of knowledge. This model of teacher education is not likely to change in the near future unless more fundamental and massive proposais are adopted. Most faculties of education are probably unable, and unwilling, to implement such radical changes. Downloads
