Le Parcours de formation axée sur l’emploi (PFAE) constitue une offre de formation qualifiante principalement destinée aux élèves ayant des défis scolaires variés et importants. En d’autres mots, il s’agit là d’une diversification des parcours menant à l’obtention d’un certificat de formation qualifiante reconnu par le Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES). Cela dit, que pensent les jeunes, souvent inscrits par obligation, de cette formation ? Qu’ont-ils à nous apprendre sur la cohérence entre ce qu’ils y vivent et sur les intentions premières de ce programme ? C’est à travers une recherche qualitative réalisée auprès de 149 élèves provenant de six écoles secondaires que nous avons cherché à comprendre comment se vit cette voie de formation.
THE WORK-ORIENTED TRAINING PATH: YOUTH SPEAK OUT
The Work-Oriented Training Path (WOTP) constitutes skills-based training intended mainly for students facing various and significant educational challenges. In other words, the WOTP offers diversified training paths leading to the acquisition of a certificate recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES). That being said, since youth are often obligated to enroll in this training, what are their thoughts on the WOTP? Are their lived experiences consistent with the original intentions of the program? We conducted qualitative research with 149 students from six secondary schools to better understand their experiences of the WOTP.
