Author Biography

Aziz Choudry, McGill University

AZIZ CHOUDRY is Assistant Professor, International Education, Department of Integrated Studies in Education, McGill University. He is author (with Jill Hanley, Steve Jordan, Eric Shragge, and Martha Stiegman) of Fight Back:  Workplace justice for immigrant workers (Halifax: Fernwood, 2009), and is co-editor (with Dip Kapoor) of Learning from the Ground Up: Global perspectives on social movements and knowledge production (New York: Palgrave MacMillan, forthcoming, 2010). A longtime social and environmental activist, writer and researcher, he has worked extensively in numerous NGOs, movements and activist groups throughout the Asia-Pacific and Canada. His articles have appeared in, among other publications, Canadian Journal for the Study of Adult Education and International Education.

 

Aziz Choudry est professeur adjoint en Études internationales au département des Études intégrées en éducation de l’Université McGill. Il est l’auteur (avec Jill Hanley, Steve Jordan, Eric Shragge et Martha Stiegman) de l’ouvrage Fight Back : Workplace justice for immigrant workers (Halifax : Fernwood, 2009) et le co-éditeur (avec Dip Kapoor) du livre Learning from the Ground Up :  Global perspectives on social movements and knowledge production (New York : Palgrave MacMillan, à paraître en 2010).  Activiste social et environnemental de longue date, auteur et chercheur, il s’est investi dans de nombreuses ONGs, mouvements et groupes activistes en Asie-Pacifique et au Canada. Ses articles ont été publiés, entre autres, dans le Canadian Journal for the Study of Adult Education et dans la revue International Education.
